David Bricker has been hired as a senior media relations representative for the Johns Hopkins Children's Center Office of Communications and Public Affairs, to report on faculty research and work with reporters to develop stories on basic science and clinical research advances at the Children's Center.
Bricker holds a B.S. in ecology and evolution from the University of California, San Diego, an M.S. in biology from the University of Michigan and an M.A. in Journalism form Indiana University. He has seven years' experience doing lab and field research, with investigative projects ranging from E. coli biochemistry to human genetics. He also has writing and editorial experience, as a journalist for two newspapers and as the managing editor for the academic journal The Information Society.
The Johns Hopkins Children's Center is Maryland's most comprehensive, acute care hospital for children, treating more than 75,000 patients annually.
