Ossanna Replaces Howard Califano, Now CEO of Johns Hopkins Singapore
Nina Ossanna, Ph.D., associate director of The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine's Office of Technology Licensing (OTL), has been appointed director of OTL She replaces Howard Califano, J.D., who left OTL to assume the post of CEO of Johns Hopkins Singapore.
"Nina's six years working with Howard in the Office of Technology Licensing, as well as her background in the biomedical patent process, has fully prepared her to assume the post as director of this increasingly important component of Johns Hopkins Medicine," said Edward D. Miller, M.D., CEO of Johns Hopkins Medicine and dean of its medical faculty. Prior to joining the Office of Technology Licensing in 1993 as a licensing associate, Ossanna was a patent examiner at the United States Patent Office working in the biotechnology area. A resident of Washington D.C., Ossanna holds a Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of Arizona and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
