John K. Niparko, M.D., professor of otolaryngology at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and director of The Listening Center, a cochlear implant program for children, will present the latest information on the advanced technology of hearing aids and cochlear implants on Tuesday, May 18, 1999 from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The program, one of a series of presentations on Machines of Medicine sponsored by the Smithsonian Associates and the National Institutes of Health, will take place in the S. Dillon Ripley Center's Lecture Hall at the Smithsonian at 1100 Jefferson Drive S.W., Washington, D.C. The building is located between the Smithsonian Castle and the Freer Gallery.
