Martha D'Erasmo has been named president and CEO of the Johns Hopkins Medical Services Corporation, effective January 1.
D'Erasmo will be responsible for the establishment of policy and the overall management of JHMSC, a wholly owned affiliate of The Johns Hopkins Health System which provides primary and secondary health care services to approximately 100,000 persons in Central Maryland. She will also plan and implement strategic business initiatives.
Her appointment was announced by Ronald R. Peterson, executive vice president and COO of The Johns Hopkins Health System, who said her work for JHMSC as a consultant over the past two years has helped to redefine JHMSC's relationships with Medicaid, the Department of Defense, and commercial managed care organizations.
"Martha D'Erasmo is an experienced health care administrator with a career spanning 25 years who holds a Master of Public Health degree in health services administration from the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health," said Peterson. "She has held multiple health care administrative positions and completed numerous management consulting engagements."
The Johns Hopkins Medical Services Corporation serves members of the Prudential Health Care Plan at 17 centers throughout Central Maryland, and members of the FreeState Health Plan and Chesapeake Health Plan at its Wyman Park site. As the Department of Defense-designated Uniformed Services Treatment Facility in the Mid-Atlantic region, JHMSC also provides health care services to active-duty and retired military families under the Uniformed Services Family Health Plan. In addition, JHMSC is a major provider of services to the Medicaid managed care population in Maryland.
