Designer dresses, vintage clothing, top-notch contemporaries and classic accessories will be put on the racks for the Johns Hopkins 1995 Best Dressed Sale and Boutique. In its 31st year, the Hopkins sale draws clothing connoisseurs from far and near who come to buy the best in "gently used" fashion.
The sale will be held once again at the Evergreen Carriage House, 4545 North Charles St., one block north of Cold Spring Lane on Sept. 28 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Sept. 29 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sept. 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Surprise specials will be featured Sept. 28 and 29, and everything is half-price on Sept. 30.
"Last year's sale raised over $115,000," says Mary J. Moses, co-chairperson of the sale and member of The Johns Hopkins Women's Board, which sponsors the event. "Imagine buying Chanels, Lois Ferrauds, Ungaros, Escadas and Fabrakants at a fraction of their original price. It's a shopper's delight."
"People economize their pocketbooks to maximize their wardrobes here and return year after year for fun shopping and great bargains," says co-chairperson Mary Arnold.
The sale features items for women, men and children including furs, evening gowns, tuxedos, suits, sports coats, ties, shoes, sweaters, casual wear, lingerie and maternity clothing. And in the boutique, shoppers will discover an array of scarves, purses, costume jewelry and other accessories. All proceeds benefit patient-care programs at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.
