On Saturday, October 1, some of the brightest stars of Johns Hopkins Medicine will shine in a series of afternoon presentations as the hospital and School of Medicine kick off a drive to raise $455 million in new endowment, capital support and program monies.
The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine ($355 million) and the Johns Hopkins hospital and Health System ($100 million) together account for slightly more than half of the $900 million goal of The Johns Hopkins Initiative.
JHHS President James A. Block, M.D., and School of Medicine Dean Michael E. Johns, M.D., will speak during the 1:30 - 3 p.m. program in JHMI's Turner Auditorium. John Stobo, M.D., vice dean for clinical science of the School of Medicine and vice president of the Health System; Catherine DeAngelis, M.D., vice dean for academic affairs and faculty; and David Blake, Ph.D., executive vice dean and dean for research, will moderate panel sessions on medical care, research, and education.
