Benjamin Carson, M.D., director of pediatric neurosurgery at The Johns Hopkins hospital will separate 6-month-old conjoined twin girls at Ga-Rankuwa hospital, 30 miles north of Pretoria, South Africa in mid-April. He will discuss details of the procedure and how he became involved at a press briefing on Friday, March 18, at 10 am., in the hospital's Houck conference room 140.

Carson will lead a medical team of more than two dozen physicians who win assemble from the Medical University of Southern Africa and Baragwanath hospital. The procedure is similar to the one he performed on the German twin boys in 1987. Photographs of the twins and a medical diagram will be available.

If you would like to attend this briefing, please call me at 223-1731 or Jo Martin at 955-8662. Parking is available at the Wolfe Street's main entrance or the open lot across from the hospital.
