The Women's Board of The Johns Hopkins Hospital elected six new members and a new officer at its annual meeting, May 23.
Mrs. Stephen C. Achuff, Mrs. James A. Block, Mrs. Morton F. Goldberg, Mrs. Lawrence S. C. Griffith, Mrs. William C. Richardson and Mrs. William Pew were elected to membership. In addition, Mrs. J. Stevenson Peck was elected to a three-year term as second vice-president.
The board originated in 1927 to raise money for patient care. Since then, its contributions have been used to update the medical library, purchase equipment, provide scholarships and establish diagnostic centers.
This year, more than $450,000 has been netted from business ventures and annual fund-raisers, says President Pamela Schlott. Projects sponsored by the 50-member board include the Coffee Bar, Gift Shops, Carry-On Shop, Best Dressed Sale, Carriage House Collection Sale and the Great Tastes Kitchen Tour.
