DOT/IATA Dangerous Goods Shipping Certification TrainingThe Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) department offers DOT/IATA shipping certification in-person training modules on a continuing basis throughout the year. In an effort to make the training more easily accessible our department is in the process of putting this training into an online course that can be taken in place of the in-person training. Our first step in that process is making the Used Health Care Products (UHCP) training module available. This module provides the basic information for shipping medical, diagnostic, research, or other equipment that may have been contaminated with potentially infectious substances and can determine whether further training is needed. Shipping Used Health Care Products (UHCP)Definition and Summary of Requirements As specified in the summary of requirements, if you have a UHCP that has been exposed to a Category A material, you must attend one of our DOT/IATA classes before offering it for shipment. These courses are offered twice each month and registration is required. Please see the DOT/IATA Training Schedule for exact dates and times. If you have any questions about this training, please call HSE at 5-5918 or email James Bukowski at jbukowsk@jhmi.edu or Paula Davis at pdavis17@jhmi.edu. |
