Introducing the Antibody Exchange Bank
The antibody exchange is a forum designed to facilitate thhe exchange of commercial and/or custom antibodies. This tool will provide an effective manner in which waste is minimized and all resources of this type are efficiently used within the research community.
Plan Outline:
Using our interactive web-based application, interested Principle Investigators are encouraged to post a list of available reagents on-line. Each participating PI will have a password to access the database and to maintain their list. Using a search function, queries can be made based on antigen or PI names. An individual can essentially "shop around" for what they need. Once a desired item is located, it will then be up to the two investigators to decide how to make an exchange (direct exchange of equal Abs, etc.). The bank will contain all the necessary contact information for the exchange to take place, offline.
What to Do:
- Setup the initial account by registering on-line.
- The facility managers will be notified automatically.
- You will then be notified when the account is ready and enabled.
- Verify that all on-line information is correctly displayed.
- The laboratories will maintain their individual accounts.
- The entire bank will be managed by the Ross Core Facility.
That is it! You are ready to go. We at the Ross Facility believe this will be a very cost-effective program. We also hope the Exchange will serve as a platform to increase new investigative interaction. The Bank the will be open to all researchers, worldwide.
Thank you for your participation!
